*Note that the cabins do not have keys. Your cabin can be locked from the inside.

lectrical current

Each cabin has 220-volt outlets, and in addition each bathroom has a 220-volt outlet that can only be used for razors, battery chargers, or other appliances that draw small amounts of current. The 220-volt outlets take continental two-pin plugs.

Tools For Exploration

Outfitted to discover the islands & undersea

National Geographic Endeavour II is outfitted to connect you with the wildest places in Galapagos.

Snorkeling gear & wetsuits

On the first day of your expedition you'll be fitted with a mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit, and, if you choose, a snorkel buoyancy vest. These are yours to use for the duration of the expedition - so there's no need to pack and tote your own gear. The 3mm shorty wetsuits allow you to stay in the cool water of Galapagos longer, and protect your skin from the equatorial sun. Guests who own masks with prescription lenses, or prefer to use thicker, full-length wetsuits are welcome to bring their own gear.

Zodiacs

Key to our operation is our fleet of Zodiacs, which we use to land on remote islands that would otherwise be inaccessible. With eight of these boats used every time we disembark, we're able to transfer everyone off the ship quickly, so you can be out on adventures, not idly waiting. These sturdy inflatable craft are the same time-tested brand Jacques Cousteau used in his expeditions for over 30 years. They are widely recognized as the safest and most versatile small boats afloat. The Zodiacs we use are 19 feet long, powered by four-stroke outboard engines, and are capable of carrying 12 to 14 people with ease.

Kayaks and stand-up paddleboards

A fleet of kayaks and stand-up paddle boards allow you to explore scenic shorelines - where you might encounter sea lions, penguins, and more. Our naturalists will help novices with technique, while experts have the opportunity to explore further afield.

Glass-bottom Zodiac

Explore the undersea while staying dry aboard our glass-bottom Zodiac. A naturalist is always aboard to identify reef fish and other wildlife.

Underwater camera

Your undersea specialist will dive at snorkeling sites, shooting video to share during Recap in Endeavour II's lounge - it's when you find out more about the vibrant undersea you're exploring.

Video microscope

See the tiny flora and fauna that lives in the rich waters surrounding Galapagos. Your naturalist will collect plankton using a special net, and then you'll be able to view this fascinating microscopic life on the high-definition screens in the lounge as your naturalist explains it.

Ship Summary

Your moving basecamp for exploring the islands

Purpose built in 2005 for expedition cruising in the waters of Tierra del Fuego, the National Geographic Endeavour II underwent a major refit for Galapagos service in 2016 with an all new forward lounge, library, gym & spa along with new fixtures and furniture in cabins, new suites and other amenities throughout. Sophisticated and energy efficient lighting, air-conditioning, water-making and other technical features were also installed or replaced for year-round operation in equatorial waters. Life Aboard

Exploring Galapagos with the luxury of comfort

You'll find that Galapagos cruise travel is relaxing and enlightening - the perfect place for respite between activities - strolling beaches, hiking among abundant wildlife, kayaking, and exploring the undersea.

Dining: taste the region

Our dining room accommodates the entire expedition community in a single seating, and many tables accommodate an odd number of people to encourage easy mingling. Independent travelers will find a welcome everywhere. Dress is always casual and the general ambience is relaxed and informal.

Every meal is a delight and often a discovery - a window, so to speak, on the region you're exploring. All food served aboard is fresh, local and delicious; sourced from suppliers that share our values of sustainability whenever possible, and often inflected with regional flavors.

Breakfast is served buffet-style, with eggs and other dishes made to order. Enjoy freshly baked pastries, and a bounty of fresh, tropical fruits and fresh-squeezed fruit juices. An early riser continental breakfast is also served each morning, often on deck as conditions permit. Lunch is most often buffet, though occasionally served family style, and there is also an option of a light lunch served on deck. Dinners are plated and served in the dining room, except for the evening when a barbecue is held on the expensive open-air observation deck. Whether a meal is buffet-style or served, our gracious waitstaff is ever-present to attend to your every need.

During lunch and dinner your expedition leader, naturalists, and any guest speakers aboard will join you for meals, and during breakfast they often sit together to plan the logistics of our exciting Galapagos cruise tours.

Expansive public spaces for gathering and relaxing

Endeavour II features expansive public spaces with room to roam and discover the ship's nooks and crannies. Gather with friends over cocktails in the evening or find a spot all to yourself, with a book, at midday. On a clear night, head to the ship's observation deck and ask a naturalist to point out the Southern Cross, or venture to the bridge to mark the Equator crossing on the ship's compass.

  • Bridge: You're invited to the ship's bridge to see the calm business of navigation unfold. Ask the watch officer questions about sailing the Galapagos Islands. Or help yourself to the ever-ready binoculars to scan the horizon. There may occasionally be times, such as late at night or due to security regulations, when the bridge must be restricted to shipboard personnel only, but otherwise, you are always welcome.

  • Lounge: The forward lounge is the heart of our expedition community, where we hold the cocktail hour and Recap each evening. It's also where you'll gather for lectures, photography talks, and guest speaker presentations. Forward of the lounge is an open-air deck, ideal for keeping watch for wildlife or having morning coffee.

  • Bar: The bar is typically open from 11 a.m. until one hour after lunch begins and from 5 p.m. until closing. A variety of beverages are available for purchase including beer, cocktails, a daily specialty drink, spirits, and wine by the glass or bottle. There are also 24-hour self-service beverage stations in the library and the forward lounge with coffee, tea, soft drinks, water, ice, and snacks.

  • Library: The library, easily the finest library in the islands, is located on the bridge deck. It includes a wide range of novels, puzzles, reference, and illustrated books. It's a quiet, cool place to relax, browse maps of the islands, and watch the scenery glide past.

  • Wellness: an uplifting aspect of your expedition The pure wildness of Galapagos is naturally uplifting. Add to that a variety of spa treatments available aboard, and you'll find your expedition relaxing as well as revitalizing. Massages, body treatments, facials, and hand and foot treatments inspired by the natural beauty of Galapagos, are all available in the LEXspa.

  • Fitness center: Adjacent to the library, it contains a variety of cardio equipment as well as free weights. Simply ask the wellness specialist if you'd like a yoga mat, exercise bands, or sets of small hand weights to use in your cabin as well.

  • The Global Gallery: a window on local talent A celebration of the talent of local artisans, the global gallery showcases and sells items made by the people of Galapagos and Ecuador. You may find hand-carved wooden chess sets and masks, jewelry crafted from recycled glass beads, woven sun hats and locally made bags, locally grown coffee and avocado oil, plus books by some of your naturalists. The items in the global gallery evolve as we meet and work with talented locals. Every item purchased in the Global Gallery contributes to the Lindblad Artisan Fund, which supports artisans in communities around the world to develop their potential more effectively and successfully. The Global Gallery is located on the Bridge deck.
